Darker Than Wax is a label that's been making some significant waves in the world of instrumental music lately, and though they've accrued a modest following, they're nowhere near where they ought to be given the quality of the tracks they share. Go Yama's "Miniature Ponyo Souls" is a perfect example of the label's exquisite taste, and the track itself, a tribute to Japanese film director, animator, manga artist, illustrator, producer, and screenwriter Hayao Miyazaki, induces immeasurably ambient vibes that we're fortunate to be able to experience and pass along. We recommend listening to the track as you're winding down for the night, but the rhythmic bass and hustling percussion is interesting enough to captivate attention during the daylight as well.
