Glass Animals — Gooey (Rework) ft. Chester Watson

Glass Animals

Gooey (Rework) ft. Chester Watson

When we see a new release from the UK quartet, Glass Animals, we barely even have to listen, because we know it's going to be good. However, we usually end up listening quite a few times, since we can't seem to help ourselves to their sound, and a lot of the times, we can't help but imagine how perfect their songs would serve as rap instrumentals. Apparently they've been thinking the same thing, though, and we're delighted to seem hook up with Chester Watson on a rap-infused rework of their previously released track, "Gooey". If you've listened to "Gooey", or really any Glass Animals song, then you should be familiar with the group's signature sound, consisting of hard-hitting bass, fresh percussion, and really, unparalleled production. However, you might not be familiar with Chester Watson, and if that's the case, you're in the same boat as us. It didn't take long for us the realize the stark talent in his possession, though; his nonchalant flow and superb lyricism are more than enough to spark our interest. It's safe to say that Glass Animals have picked an ideal rapper to compliment their idyllic instrumental, and while we wait for future collaborations of the kind, their Gooey EP, and their new album, ZABA, coming out June 10th, make sure to spend some quality time with the recent work of theirs and Chester's below.
