Gentlemen HALL is a six-piece synth-pop band hailing from Boston, but calling their work "pop music" is probably too blunt a descriptor. Yes, their music has a sharp, finely-tuned quality present in most of the tracks you hear on your local FM station, but don't think for a second that these guys are in the business of making hollow dance songs that lose their flavor after a couple of listens. In fact, Gentlemen HALL is one of the few groups putting out material these days that feels both crisp and professional, yet completely genuine and organic. The case in point is their latest release, "Raindrops". It's a cross-continent collaboration between the band and Pakistani producer, Talal Qureshi. The song is beautifully put together, and it serves as the perfect example of what can go right when two very different sounds join forces on one project. It's still got all of Gentlemen HALL's crisp production work, but when you throw in Talal's ear for subtle textures, the final product is something to be enjoyed over and over again. If you haven't heard either of these artists' work before, we recommend you do a little digging through their respective discographies. Chances are you're going to find a ton of new favorite tracks, and when you hear what their respective sounds are like independent of each other, it'll give you a whole new appreciation for what they've here accomplished together.
