Gems is set to drop their debut EP, Medusa, early this November, and as a preview for the full release, they've just put out the first track entitled [ wait for it... ] "Medusa." Like their older work, Gems' sound on "Medusa" is very much a display of polar opposites. The contrast between the ultra-low octave bass lines and the high pitched, almost ghost-like, vocals make for a very memorable sound. In fact, with almost no mid tones, the song bears a striking similarities to the ultra-high contrast photography Gems uses for their album artwork. If 80's inspired indie pop is your thing, but you're looking for a band with a more sophisticated approach to the genre, then Gems is your jam.
