Brooklyn act Mr Twin Sister has etched quite a mesmerizing downtempo-pop style with their work in their past, but with their take on Gemma's "As Ever" here, we get a mighty whiff of what their production end is truly capable of. Sifting Felicia Douglass' vocal efforts (she's the singer of the act), and keeping nuances of the original, Twin Sister adds an emphatic touch overall, employing pulsating subs and groove-filled basslines as well. The downtempo brilliance is certainly eminent through it all, and a pleasurable, sunlit reworking emerges as a result.
