The nimble, palliatively melancholic production of Israeli-based trio Garden City Movement has had us recurrently captivated with their work, and at the glimpse of any unheard efforts of theirs, we prepare ourselves for something of an expedition through a mesmerizing sonic landscape. In terms of their prosperity as an act, credit is due to BLDG5 Records, too, who's unfurled the trio's distinct, magnetic aura to numerous listeners, and now aid in the latest release of the enchanting “Lir”. Luring strings with an eerie backdrop inaugurate the piece, making way for the vocals to echo and meander through several percussive adjustments, and eventually, they allow for the signature pitch-shifting of certain cuts at the chorus. We’ve already shown our affection towards the ambience created by GCM in the past, and this one on "Lir" is as good as the rest, with implementations of serene synths, drums that fail to exhaust, and astute timing on endless percussion. It's all got us ready as ever for their upcoming body of work, and we're awaiting anxiously for its June 23rd drop.
