British duo GAPS make extraordinary music, for lack of a better way to describe how impressed I am. Formed by Brighton classmates Ed and Rachel, the two make music with a cinematic feel. When "Cascade" starts, the first thing you hear are seagulls, before Ed takes over with impressive string-heavy melodies and thumping drums. Rachel's vocals can be heard fleetingly throughout the piece, and the combination is simply wonderful. Though "Cascade" serves as their debut, they have equally impressive tracks like "Belong," which allows Rachel to take lead over a piano ballad. It's the music you'd expect to hear as a film score - extremely fitting, as GAPS proves they could have held their own on The Great Gatsby's star-studded soundtrack.
