Well, up until this point, it had been approximately six months since electronic extraordinaire Galimatias revealed any new material, and frankly, we were beginning to wonder when the Dane would again surface one of his unusual, indefinable, and entirely engrossing sounds. Fortunately, we've to wonder no longer, though, as the producer has today unveiled a refreshing new track for us to revel completely over. (Our praise is well-founded, we promise.) "Ocean Floor Kisses" is the new work's namesake, and though it's unmistakably Galimatias-sounding, that just means it's engaging, enrapturing, and unlike anything you've heard before. There's this slight charm that's washed into the effort, too (no doubt because of frequent collaborator Alina Baraz's included vocal chops, among other elements), and it really works to give the track a touch of glam that isn't so common in contemporary electronic works. To be sure, Galimatias makes sure that his astounding, aquatic-sounding chords strike some of our own within us, and, not only is he successful in that regard, but he effectively takes our breath away in the process. An effort entitled "Ocean Floor Kisses" suggests that this ought to be a response had, and surely—in all its lovely and liquid-like bliss—it is.
