FURNS popped up on our radar about nine months ago, and they caught our ear instantly with their remarkable style. The Copenhagen-based duo features stunning female vocals and smooth, synth-glazed production, resulting in a sound that is mellow, yet absolutely infectious. They've dropped off quite a few tracks over the past year, with "Sparks" being our favorite, but now, they've returned with a brand-new single and the exciting news of an upcoming album. "Keeper" is said single, and it sounds like what you'd hear in a futuristic coffee shop; the song has a fairly stripped-down structure, with the rhythm held constant by a single tambourine shake, but plenty of claps, taps, kicks, and bongo drums appear throughout the track. Electric piano chords ring out softly, and almost halfway through the piece, we hear them shift form into some funk-infused synths. There's no doubting the fact that Mathias Dahl Andreasen wonderfully produced the piece, but Monika Faludi's soothing, soulful vocals add an extra flair that the track so greatly benefits from.
