Longtime readers of Hillydilly will know that we have had our horse hitched firmly to the post of Monika Faludi and Mathias Dahl Andreasen (FURNS) for some time now. From the very first single we've heard from them, all the way up to the release of their self-titled debut album last year, we have remained entranced by the alluring sounds from the Danish duo. Now, a mere eight months after dropping their LP, we are being treated to brand-new music in the form of “Fortress”. The silken vocals displayed by Faludi on this latest track are as sublime as ever, and Dahl Andreasen makes short work of producing the familiar, atmospheric, downtempo groove that we just can’t get enough of. Like a dear friend, we've felt the absence of FURNS this year, but we are so excited to be reacquainted once more with their work, and though we're unsure at this point where this particular entry will sit within their music catalog (is it just a one-off single?), we urge you to check out/revisit their debut album which is still available for purchase on iTunes.
