Fryars has been working towards his debut album, Power, for what seems like forever. It was last July when effort "Cool Like Me" really kicked off the buzz for the singer-songwriter, and although he's been releasing music under the moniker since 2009, it's now in 2014 that Ben Garrett (Fryars) is to hit a new artistic high. Pushing him there is his aforementioned debut album, and it's now (finally) available for full streaming today. Like the pop-accessibility of his go-to hit, "Cool Like Me", the rest of Power and its individual tracks act like low-hanging fruit, precisely because they're so easy to enjoy. It's with tracks like the previously released "On Your Own" and our two new favorites, "Don't Make It Hard On Yourself" and "Prettiest Ones Fly Highest", that we find his alternative-pop sound at his best, and we suspect you will agree once you hear them both below.
