The Grove Kids Finale

If you're looking for something new and just a little off the beaten path, then this one is for you. It's not a mashup, but the vocals have been pulled from various Lana Del Rey songs and stitched together into one full-length track that will have you relaxing in no time. The production work itself is wholly the work of Illinois producer, Free Ether, and when the off-beat sounds are paired up with a collage of Lana sound bites, the result is very different indeed. If pressed, we would label this as some sort of experimental electronic effort, but it's got a little bit of everything in it, and the way it smoothly transitions from one soundscape to another makes you wonder why more people aren't blending things up like this more often. Yes, there are plenty of remixes, covers, and mashups out there that give songs a new lease on life, but none of them really capture the laid-back vibes that this one does. You may not be a fan of the way he favors swirling everything together (rather than giving each segment of the song some definition), but you have to respect his approach, and you can't deny that when the last note dies, things are just a little bit more mellow than when the first one started.
