The wonderful thing about music today is that when one of your favorites artists has been quiet for an extended period of time, as Francis and the Lights has been almost all of 2017, he or she might just drop a surprise project. That's the case with Just for Us, a project that finds Francis picking up where he left off with Farewell, Starlite!. While this favorite is still bringing elements of Phil Collins into the 2010s, a key difference between this, and his previous project is the reduced role of prismizer and the resulting brevity and intimacy of the songs. We are still huge fans, and, on the album, Francis proves that less is more and that there's power in vulnerability, for sure.
