Francis and the Lights' resurgence this year has been huge. Collaborations with Chance The Rapper, The Weeknd, and Cashmere Cat have taken place, and some of the year's best songs in Bon Iver-assisted "Friends" and "See Her Out"—each of which feature on their just-released new album, Farewell, Starlite!—have been shared as well. What makes Francis' music so special, and, ultimately, what makes this album one of the year's best, is the singularity the music finds itself in. Caught between being folk, electronic, pop, and something you could call "futuristic", is a sound that is impossible not to fall in love with. "Friends" and "See Her Out" are, of course, the endearing standouts from the album, but the rest of Farewell, Starlite! is packed with intrigue, incredible songwriting, and fantastic structure, too. It's all enough to have you glued to the body of work, and we know that we will be, too.
