On a day where barely anything is dropping, a track as good as this one pretty much saves the day for us at HD, and prevents us from pulling our hair out. The effort at hand here is the latest piece from the Melbourne duo, Fortunes, who, prior to this song, was just the producer, Barnaby Matthews, who had only released one project, Come Home Early, under the Fortunes moniker. While the EP was a noteworthy body of work, the choice to bring in the vocals of Conor McCabe was clearly a great move. As we find out with "Keeper", the pairing of Conor's achingly smooth vocals with the hip-hop-infused and electronically fueled production of Barnaby makes for one of the most exciting tracks we've heard from a duo that have emerged from obscurity this year. To our knowledge, besides "There You Go", this is the only track we can find including each of the individuals, both so let's hope more come from this duo very soon, since "Keeper" is itself fantastic.
