As an Australian living in North America, it is surprisingly not often that I feel homesick. The odd friend-filled event or family milestone is missed, sure, but for the most part, I am quite content (and dare I say happy), with my new life in this opposing hemisphere. That being said, every time I listen to the kind of music here featured, I suffer from the all-too-familiar pangs of longing for countless blue-sky days and endless beaches. The band responsible for all of these feels is Melbourne quintet, Foreign/National. Channelling their inner Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the lads have delivered an outstanding slice of psych-pop that perfectly encapsulates the playful sun-drenched sensibilities of the land I once called home.
