One of the greatest things to happen to current music is the pairing of soulful singers with pumping electronic beats. The sound has been utilized by countless artists, and few are able to make the blend innovative and fresh. Here, we see the self-described "alternative two-piece project", Folded Like Fabric, take the electro-soul pairing and meld it with an orchestral backing on their new track, "You Said." The three-minute track packs in the milky qualities of lead singer Jay Mooncie's voice with the skilled beat-making and instrumental prowess of second bandmate Connor Sims. The varied use of instruments here is what makes this song so special. It begins with sounds of strings before adding in chimes and pulsing synths. No thirty seconds of the song sound exactly the same, and, with each listen, you'll catch something you had not heard before. Folded Like Fabric's bringing excitement and talent into this genre of alternative music, and listeners are only going to want more after listening to their new track here.
