We came across Sussex two-piece Folded Like Fabric two months ago with their incredibly delighting tracks, "Patiently" and "Too Easy", and today, we've their first piece from an upcoming, scarcely outlined EP of theirs, "I Tried". The duo hails the track as "alternative dance" on their SoundCloud page, and while that's not out of the realm of reasonableness, it's perhaps more accurate to call the sound a blend of those, and of indie and electronic elements, too. Regardless, we're freaking fascinating with the way Jay Mooncie (production) and Connor Sims (vocalist) combine their talents on the track—the former with his wavering, soothingly dynamic instrumental inclusions, and the latter, with his charmingly spiking tone—and as the track progresses, we're gifted with more and more reasons to fall in love with it. The pacing is proper, the sentiments are there, and the overall ambiance is aglow with appeal and delight. Bet that we'll be keeping up with their future releases as a result.
