FMLYBND has always been a favorite here at HD, and despite the fact that they've had a relatively unpredictable release schedule since their inception (they technically only have one official release out ["Electricity"]), we've been kept eager to hear more of the kind of quality music it exuded. Needless to say, we're quite happy they've decided to give us access to more of their marvelous material. "Young Wild" is FMLY's latest single, and while it's unmistakably them in the sonic sense, there's no missing the fact that the band has been hard at work, locked away in some studio, refining and honing their craft after taking a slight hiatus. There's a noticeable bump in the size of the track when you compare it to older work of theirs—especially when the choruses come into play—and if you had any doubts about the band not being able to successfully recapture the magic of their aforementioned hit, you've no reason to worry, because this new song is killer. The effort starts off in a somewhat similar fashion to "Electricity", and even when it finally does open up in the middle sections, there's a lot of the same sounds present. That being said, we have to give the band props for keeping it so consistent after all this time, and despite the mentioned similarities, the music is still simply great, and will no doubt keep these awesome musicians on a roll going into the next year and beyond. Look for FMLYBND's forthcoming debut EP, Back To My Life, October 7th.
