French-born beatmaker flybear might be known to only a select few at this point, but what he offers in the electronic realm is certainly promising, as his latest effort, "The Hook", is a seething one with a highly innovative sonic edge. Flybear inserts a unique aesthetic in the entirety of his new, third track, and his terrific inclusions of jazz-inspired instrumentations and pristine synths give us a sound that's very fresh and even a bit similar to burgeoning electronic maestro Mura Masa. Mesmerizing flute sequences and exhilarating drums also bolster the piece, and, with its continually warping progressions throughout, flybear leaves us more than impressed.
