It’s been nearly three years since Flume released his game-changing debut album, and, over this past year, we’ve all been on the edge of our seats in anticipation of his next LP. Over the past six months, he has, in fact, dropped off a few remixes as well as single “Some Minds”, but we’ve still been hoping for news of his new project's release. Although we don’t have that info quite yet, Flume’s decided to give us impatient fans another taste of his sound with his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and there are definitely some gems among the bounty of tracks. The two-hour mix is packed with plenty of great music from many excellent acts, but the most exciting parts of it are filled with unreleased sounds from the man himself. Our favorites of his new efforts are his Hayden James rework, an untitled cut, and his remix of Beyoncé's "Ghost". Overall, the songs are fairly laid-back and wonderfully formed pieces of music, and they're definitely making us ready for the Australian production prodigy's new album.
