It was a no-brainer tagging “ocean”, our first taste from Oregonian four-piece flor, as a standout synth-pop effort, and just as we'd predicted when that came out, there’s more marvelous material of theirs for us to again delve into. Their newest track, “back again”, constitutes the final single release from their debut EP, and with it, they’ve cemented a certain sonic brand that steps a bit aside from the catchy pop we’ve been inundated with recently and explores deeper the burgeoning soulful niche within the genre. It employs confidently laid-back tones with soft, ringing vocals and a plethora of echoing notes to generate a truly smooth and refined sound. Atop the hype that’s enthralled many with flor's work, we’re happy to report that the entirety of their EP is available free of charge from their SoundCloud, and in case our words haven’t convinced you to do so already, soaking yourself in their captivating selections is a move you definitely, definitely want to make.
