Float Fall

Snow

Over one year ago, we posted a breathtaking dream-pop effort entitled "Someday" from Float Fall, a boy and girl duo hailing from Belgium. The song was the debut release from them, and it demonstrated so much promise and potential that we were sure we would hear more from them soon. Unfortunately, we don't have an official new release from Float Fall, but we do have more music of theirs to share. "Snow" was released alongside their first single, and it could only be found on the B-side of their 12" vinyl releases on iTunes in Belgium. Now that the song's finally surfaced, though, we've the hard evidence in saying that it's every bit as charming as their first single was. "Snow" possesses delicate instrumentation, emotive vocals, and an absolutely serene vibe, and because all of these elements are so delicately handled, the song really is the epitome of a modern ballad. Gentle synths compose the base layer, which is then covered with minimal percussion, frost-bitten piano keys, and mournful strings. It's a lot of intelligently crafted sounds working in harmony with one another, and after hearing it all coalesce into the finished product that is "Snow", our yearn for new material from the two has reached a new level. We have no idea when we'll be hearing more from Float Fall, mind you, but we'll just have to listen to the track here to tide us over in the meantime.
