The Ontario-based, indie-pop five-piece, Fitness Club Fiasco, only has one original track out right now, but it's good enough to run with the best of 'em, and its sound is on point. The quiet synth textures that open up "Goldmine" are perfectly balanced with the band's soft vocals, and by the time you've settled in to their groove, you realize you're enjoying something a lot more expansive than you had initially anticipated. All the different layers melt together in such a way that the track's production work actually feels a lot more spartan than it actually is. Listen more carefully though, and you'll realize there are a lot of moving pieces that went in to making "Goldmine" sound so good. With such a promising first release, we'll be crossing our fingers for more from these guys in the near future.
