I stumbled upon the Melbourne producer, Female, by chance last night, and knew with that kind of title that he'd be something special. I mean, you can't just claim that kind of moniker without submitting something bold to bolster it, can you? Apparently you can't, because Female has more than made a name for himself with his delicate productions. "Stay" is the name of his latest, and it's about as lustrous as track can get. With an overarching, angelic vocal sample it begins, encouraging a swift melody of hats to follow. After a short while, tempered bass introduces itself alongside some snapping snare, and the vibe takes off in an energetic and ethereal way, providing a moody, moving listen.
