When German-based, deep-house virtuosos like Freddy Verano and Felix Jaehn decide to team up, your expectations soar before you press that play button (and rightfully so), as their latest collaboration, “Shine”, with the vocal-aid of upcoming artist, Linying, throughly impresses. The title almost suffices as an explanation to the tune, but let’s not neglect the sheer adeptness in the production of this tantalizing piece. It's that time of year when a number of deep, melodic house pieces assault the music sphere, and unfortunately, the majority don’t exactly differ from each other a whole lot. This is definitely not the case with seasoned artists like Freddy and Felix, though, who shelf countless layers of luring sax-synths, dazzling flute riffs, and exquisitely glazed drumwork into the effort to accessorize Linying’s vocals superbly. The elements work wonderfully together, and they provide for some of the best saxophone-led house we've heard.
