With TDE's integral signing of SZA, it's clear that, for any rap group wishing to stand out, they better have a high-powered R&B songstress in the crew to diversify the spice of their sound. So for Tyga's Last Kings imprint, while nowhere near TDE in terms of consistency, it made remarkably clear creative sense to sign the LA-based vocalist, ESTY. Now, we're not exactly sure how long ESTY will remain on the imprint, because what's being offered on her debut EP, Darkroom, is worthy of allowing her to stand on her own two feet, that's for sure. Nevertheless, boasting an irrefutably angelic vocal tone, the former Providence resident sings with an authentic prose, and where most singers sound like they're barely involved with their efforts, ESTY pulls you right into her music, leaving no doubt that this her art originates in the soul.
