We're still waiting with baited breath for the release of Erik Hassle's new EP on March 4th, but to hold us over, Erik has put out one last single to keep the buzz going. "Ready For You" is much more R&B-centric than his other tracks, and the slower pace which frames the big-room string samples coalesce to form what might be his most soulful offering yet. It's not as poppy as his other originals and remixes, but the tone still has that tint of bleak abandon which he so artfully weaves into the aesthetic of each release of his. It's not overt, but all the track elements seem to take inspiration from it, and it serves to give his work a very distinct brand, one which a lot of other artists try to replicate, but often fail to do successfully. Stylistically, "Ready For You" slides in nicely between "Talk About It" and "Pathetic", and when you listen to all three in a row, there's no denying that this Swedish artist has both relaunched his career, and nailed a signature sound which is both fun to listen to, and something you're compelled to respect. Somebody's Party drops on March 3rd via TEN/RCA Records.
