The debut single, "Pyre", from the new UK duo, Equals=, is not traditional in any sense. The song opens up with a bursting flair of electronic cacophony alluding to sound that you would never assume to be associated with the soulful timbre found here. However, what you once thought would not work immediately moulds together once the lead vocals of Ade Omotayo drop in on the track. Expect Equals= to be sticking around, because with the release of "Pyre" and the lead vocalists' prior involvement in a cover band with Amy Winehouse (while also working on her albums and live shows), the connections run deep, and so does the talent.
