Shimmy Records is one of those labels you'd expect to hear a little more about, given their success at the specific sound they champion, but for whatever reason, they've been chained to the shadows, at least, for now. We're willing to bet that that's going to change in a big, positive way when Entheogenesis' debut EP, Vanity, and from it, the absolutely massive "Ride", casts out into the public eye of production aficionados. The track, one of four originals on the EP, boasts layered synths, boomy bass, and chopped background vocals that kind of just glide gracefully by as the beat unwinds. It all makes for a moving listening experience, something you'd be keen on bumping on your next ride into town, or in some speakers able to enlarge the intensity, and because of the accessible sonic intrigue "Ride" emits, we're thinking that Entheogenesis and Shimmy will both be seeing more of each other in the future.
