Over a year ago, a group called Empty Houses released a debut EP that sounded like it came straight from the '60s era of R&B and soul. The project contained fun, original tunes from start to end, and, as a result, it ended up being one of our favorite to come from the point in time. Though the band began as nothing more than a punk group's side project, their halcyon tunes instantly enchanted enough listeners for them to take things a bit more seriously, and now, as a result of that, we have brand-new single "Rope" from them to hear. "Rope" contains the same retro, upbeat feel that we originally fell in love with from the band, but now, it's got some very high-end production behind it, courtesy of GRAMMY-winning producer Graham Marsh, as well. After hearing the effort, we're eager to get our hands on the rest of Empty Houses' album, Daydream, that's out tomorrow, June 10, via Sargent House.
