Go ahead and tack London-based groove aficionado Embody's "Bad News" on your bulletin board and give it a long and hard look, as the caliber of music it provides us with is at a level we don't normally see. What begins as a lighthearted vocal and synth (of the tropical variety) track ends up as a full-on house-infused composition. Once the rotating beat kicks in, too, there's absolutely no turning back, as the percussion hits are quickly accompanied by distorted vocals from Obenawa as well as a well-keyed piano sequence. We'll admit, we were jamming out last week when we heard Jafunk's sensationally uplifting and dance-worthy debuts, and now we're elated to have a similar effort to continue the trend. Though "Bad News" may be one of only a handful of original releases from Embody, his past work (most notably, "Make A Stand" featuring Barnaby) earns him a gleaming reputation as a producer of tropical-infused dance music that is second to none. Certainly, you're going to want to be sure to take a minute to sample Embody's earlier remixes, as they've yielded big hits on the web (his dance-inspired take on Milky Chance's "Stolen Dance" that has amassed over 1 million listens online [and rightfully so]), but, the most important thing here is the realization that Embody excels with his enlivening sonic experiences, and that his latest here, "Bad News", is another gem to get us up out of our seats.
