If you check the Hillydilly archives, you'll notice that we've never featured any original work from Skrillex and Justin Bieber, although we did post a bit of Diplo's earlier material. Even though we aren't huge advocates of their music, however, there's no debating each of the artists' colossal influence in their respective fields— influences that have unambiguously inspired some incredible covers and remixes over the years. Today, we've another of those to add to that list, too: this shining cover of "Where Are Ü Now" from Swedish three-piece Ember Island. The clear focus of this cleverly stripped-down piece is the vocals, which harmonize brilliantly with what layers lie around them. However, as the song progresses, we get a taste of gently euphoric production as well, and it makes us wish that the track lasted longer than just the two-and-a-half minute time that it does. Still, even with the brief end result, this charming affair hopefully foreshadows a bright future ahead for the three creative minds that put it into place.
