Eloise Keating — Working Late

Eloise Keating

Working Late

Eloise Keating is still a very fresh face, but if you pry a little further in your investigations, you'll find that she's not just an upstart singer-songwriter trying to brave the big and bad world of pop music alone. She's actually been working for some time behind the scenes refining her sound, and her team has been working hard making sure that she's got a sound that will separate her from the overwhelmingly large pack of hopefuls looking to hit it big with a debut release. "Working Late" is reminiscent of the type of calm and collected "cool" that Lana Del Rey made her name with, but Eloise has stopped short of merely copying her, and instead opted for a tone that is much more crisp and airy. Her voice complements the sauntering guitar notes as they roll off the strings, and the tidbits of audio snippets from various nondescript sources add a much welcome dose of creativity to the mix. It's the perfect song to zone out to if you're out for a long drive and want the miles to melt away, or as the antidote for an overdose on the kind of overly upbeat indie-pop that seems to be all over the radio right now.
