Everybody's favorite indie-pop princess, Ellie Goulding, has seen countless interpretations of her work, and for good reason. Her airy vocals lend themselves to seamless integration, and myriad producers have snatched and supplemented her recognizable cadence. Kojo, a producer who may or may not have undergone a recent name change, took to the trend by taking her cover of Alt-J's "Tessellate" and turning it into a powerful piece of pop ethereality. The Maryland producer leaves a lot of the original intact, but tones down Ellie's vocals a bit for some snapping percussion that really demands attention throughout. Additional percussion comes to work as the effort unwinds, and then that beautiful saxophone that appears in the original makes another appearance here, really giving a substantial feel to the whole of the instrumental. It's a great refix considering the elements involved, and it figures to cast Kojo's name in a greater light.
