Ella Metherell is one of those diamond-in-the-rough artists who looks to be just kicking the can with music and using it more as a creative outlet than a way to make a career. We cannot confirm that, of course, by looking from afar, and, who knows, she might, in fact, be more passionate than any of us think. Since last year, the singer-songwriter has been releasing music to her SoundCloud account, and, scanning through them all, we see that they're of the bare, acoustic variety. That being said, her latest track released, "Blasé", is easily her most promising yet. It's more folk-based, and it really quite clearly shows the skill and appeal that she has. There's charm involved as well, and her songwriting and creative inflections are greatly evident in the work.
