For years now, Elderbrook has carved out his own folk-influenced indie-electronic, and, although there's been a degree of variance within it, it's primarily been based around meshing folk guitar, percussion, and his soft vocals. Now, with his Talking EP, though, he's taking a big step ahead. Although this new project retains the simplicity we've grown to love in Elder's pervious work, we're hearing a new amount of fullness to his songs here. His concise songwriting and flourishing vocals are placed center in this project, and he's turned to fluttering synths in place of his typical guitar. Here, we see that Talking clearly depicts a lot of progress from Elderbrook, and it further establishes him as an artist that's here to stay.
