If you haven't already noticed, we're sticklers from timely posts, but every so often, a track or two (or more) slips through our gaze, and, in this case, it's a two-month-old, four-track EP entitled En Vogue by Parisian house virtuoso Egoh that's passed us by. If we were to draw surface comparisons in terms of Egoh's sound, fellow Frenchman Darius will immediately come to mind, but pay a little more attention to sonic detail, and you'll detect quite an immaculate, highly crisp style altogether. The two standouts on this EP are opening tracks "Les Regards Croisés" and "Soulful", and both expose Egoh's layering adeptness rather lavishly. Bass-infused, disco-inspired synths are at the forefront of both pieces, but they far from take the spotlight, as polished drums and subtle instrumentations meld together to bring about an ideal and sunlit sonic climate. While tracks in this particular genre tend to follow a mundane route now and again, Egoh deftly changes the pace when desired and employs a plethora of vivacious sounds, making room for fans of any dance-inclined electronic music.
