Ed Thomas had only officially starting surfacing on the internet about two months ago, but his vocals are a thing of beauty, and his music is already fully formed. That's not to say we don't advocate for continual artistic growth here at Hilydilly (music would be intensely boring otherwise), but there's definitely something to be appreciated about a musician who emerges so promptly from obscurity, armed from the beginning with some of the most hauntingly beautiful tracks we've heard in some time. As the alluded-to "Away" begins its slow march through your speakers, you're instantly reminded that this guy's voice is nothing to be trifled with, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say it offers that same morose draw that Josef Salvat's does, but with the massive range of Gary Go's. This is only Thomas' third original release, so you're catching him right at takeoff, but he's already building huge amounts of steam, so you can bet Ed Thomas' vocal pipes and dark production work will be taking center stage in the very near future.
