It's not often you come across hip-hop that gets you excited with its sound, but with up-and-coming duo EarthGang's new seven-track mixtape, Torba, that release exactly one month ago, you'll realize that you're listening to something fairly special. Easy comparisons aside (Outkast, Devin The Dude, and Chance The Rapper will all come to mind when you listen), EarthGang succeeds in holding their own with their unique style, voices, and cadence. There's nothing of the rapping-just-to-rap sort going on with this body of work, though, but a more stream-of-consciousness approach that's been molded alongside an artistic outlook. Each of their tracks come off like a story of their own—not just some ordinary braggadocio. We think this duo has heaps of potential, and even though they've been releasing music together for well over two years now (we're sure they've been at it longer than that, but we're just going on what their SoundCloud has to offer), this new mixtape is sure to gain them a whole flock of new fans.
