As one of the most influential persons within all of rap's history, Dr. Dre has a lot resting on his shoulders with this one. It's been a long 16 years since the release of his last album, 2001 (which was actually released in 1999), and throughout the entire wait, hip-hop fans never ceased to discuss and anticipate his heavily rumored album, Detox. However, just mere days ago, Dre announced on Beats 1 that he's scrapped that project in favor of a new one that he has in store for us. The new album is called Compton, it turns out, and it's truly his grand finale. In Dre's typical fashion, he's assembled a deep crew for the album here, including such legendary names as Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem, and also newer hip-hop artists like Kendrick, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Jon Connor as well.
