Dpat & Atu — Nothing Here

Dpat & Atu

Nothing Here

Dpat and Atu are each kings of their respective crafts, and the fact that they've an EP in the works in reason to celebrate. The esteemed members of Soulection have teamed before, most recently, on a remix of abhi//dijon's "Let Me Know", but original collaborations have been harder for us fans to come by, which makes "Nothing Here" especially intriguing. It's all the soft elements in it the two are known for flushing through their works, and it's an unusually dusky, seductive edge attached to it, too. Large, ominous-sounding chords make this the case, and the implemented vocal chords come to lend a very physical, enigmatic presence to the track as a whole. It's graceful, but not without a despondent tone nestled within, and that sonic dichotomy is what has always made these two shine. Their intended atmosphere on "Nothing Here" is decidedly less bright, but it's every bit as stimulating an effort as we've come to expect from either, and it has us on the edge of our seats for what tracks are sure to follow. If you're fortunate enough to live in Los Angeles, or blessed enough to call the Windy City home, you can catch Dpat, or Atu and Dpat, respectively, on either June 27 or July 12th. They'll be accompanied by other Soulection artists at either event, and all information regarding them can be found in the description of the track.
