Doe Paoro — Nobody

Doe Paoro

Nobody

Doe Paoro has been building a following with her brooding indie-pop tracks, slowly but surely. For a while, it was a gradual ascent to prominence for her, but her last single, "Walking Backwards", absolutely blew up, and this latest release off of her upcoming EP, Ink on the Walls, looks to replicate the success of its predecessor. The track itself is just as measured and pent-up as her other work, but now there's some extra size to work with, and the echo and reverb that she's folded into the composition turns "Nobody" into an almost menacing track that will have you hooked right away. The song also embraces some of the more unorthodox vocal manipulation techniques, rather than auto-tune or some sort of filter, and Doe uses said techniques well to compliment her already stellar voice. At one point in the track, you're even greeted with the type of vocal warping that Kanye used in his 808's & Heartbreak album, and it works solidly alongside all the other inclusions to make "Nobody" a swell follow-up to her last sonic success.
