Seekae’s rework of DNKL’s “Battles” completely overhauls the beat of the original with a fresh and groovy chillwave filler. Forerunner undulating synth chords pave the way for chopped vocals of the original, and a heavily reverbed vocal section follows. There’s a potent tint of relaxation written all over this one, with its soulful shades and established, lax synth base, and we'd say it definitely rivals the original. We’ve come to learn that Seekae’s abilities as a group are wholly first-rate, and their most recent LP, The Worry, highlights some truly unique tracks that have been the center of our attention for some time now. Their well-tread SoundCloud is rife with remixes of their own tracks by numerous well-established re-working acts, so if you haven’t heard one of them before, hop on over and give their work a listen.
