Technically, Django Django's timeline dates back to 2009, but the biggest year for the British four-piece was certainly 2012—the year they gained massive acclaim for their self-titled debut album. Now, the band has returned from a fairly long lull with a brand-new single titled "First Light" which is bursting with their upbeat, electronically founded, and somewhat psychedelic sound. The song is built on a base of deep synths and fresh percussion with most of the melodies being created vocally. Django Django upholds the sonic tactics throughout the majority of the offering, too, but about three minutes into it, the band strips down their sound and rebuilds with electric guitar plucks and an idiosyncratic beat. Overall, it's a piece that's got us pretty excited about the return of the act and the album they've (apparently) on the way. Buy "First Light" on iTunes today.
