As we now move Jai Paul into Dr. Dre categories with regard to work that may never materialize, we now have new acts in his place to fulfil our need for music that pushes the envelope as his did. From Ben Khan, to b a y o u, and Ang Low, we've been lucky in that regard in the past year. And as we move forward in 2014, more acts are going to fill in this lane, like dd elle today. We don't know much about them, where they're from or anything like that; all we have for you is their music, and that will be OK with you once you hear their magnetic sounds. It's electronically led, but it's angsty in the sense there is no foundation of ease. It's spastic, unorthodox, and downright fascinating. As far as the vocals go, there's two of 'em from what we can tell (male & female). They juggle responsibilities back and forth on both of these songs like a good trip gone better. There is no structure to be had here, either. Their music is like a dream; you don't control it, nor do you want to. Just let it do its thing, and it will take you to amazing places. [via The Fader]
