Daye Jack has been one of the most consistent artists over the past couple of years, and, though he (rightfully) takes his time between releases to make sure they're good, he always does manage to come with the goods whenever he puts stuff out. Today, the confident up-and-comer is debuting new track "Hands Up", and, on top of being an obvious ode to some of the systematic racism and police brutality going on, it serves as another great (and surprisingly positive-sounding) piece in the artist's growing catalog. It very intelligently borrows the passion and charisma of Killer Mike on it (the guy's been an amazing advocate for the issues above for the past several years), and it utilizes some sunny production from both Ryan Hunter and Ryan Spraker as well. More than anything, though, it proves again that Daye Jackis more than just an artist making great music, but some accessibly conscious and upbeat art as well.
