If you aren't yet on board with Day Wave, the solo project of Jackson Phillips, then we strongly advise that you use this opportunity to fully catch up, because he's one of the best indie artists around right now. Just two months ago, the California-based artist provided us with an excellent third single, "Drag", and he's already returned with another great new track called "We Try But We Don't Fit In". Day Wave possesses the authenticity of a garage band and the talent of a top-tier musician, and when those two qualities are combined, the resulting sound is both unique and euphonic. At times, his new track sounds like a lo-fi mass of drums, guitar, and vocals, but it really is quite an enjoyable listen one once you get your ears accustomed to it.
