Day Wave is an artist that featured prominently on year-end lists throughout the music community, and it was with good reason that that was the case. Last year saw the musician release a prolific string of singles that worked to populate his well-received Headcase EP and beyond, and now, he's back to welcome the new year with his brand-new track, "Gone". Premiering over the weekend on Sirius XMU, “Gone” sees Day Wave return to our headphones with his signature surf-pop aesthetic in tow, albeit, with a slight coat of polish added in. It is expected that, as an artist matures, you begin to see an advancement in production and sound quality, but here, it's actually encouraging to hear that even as his recording techniques improve, he continues to maintain the spirit of his original sound that we fell in love with long ago. "Gone" will find its home on Day Wave’s forthcoming Hard To Read EP, which is available to pre-order on iTunes until its release March 4.
