Daniel Wilson first bore into the depths of our souls with his falsetto ballad, "Will You", and though the track was almost unbearably beautiful, it was an extremely safe composition by Daniel Wilson's standards (see "Bear" on his SC page for reference). On his latest effort, "Please Dream Again", we see him slowly release that progressively creative side that he was holding back a bit before. The track begins in a very bare-bones fashion similar to "Will You", but as the song continues, more and more elements are added to supplement the keyboards and his soul-penetrating vocals. By the end, we are met with brief, but very beautiful calamity. We've seen what Daniel can do with a minimalist agenda, and have only received a glimpse of what he can do with a busier composition, but we greatly look forward to this Rubbish EP that looks like he will be releasing in the near future.
